On December 5, 2008, The Arizona State Legislature Senate and House Committee of Reference approved legislation to expand the pharmacist's scope of practice to allow pharmacists in Arizona to administer vaccines without a prescription to patients 18 years of age or older using board-approved protocols. The Sunrise legislation willl be introduced in the 2009 legislative session.

As we walk into a new millenium, technologies, as well as patient needs, are changing on a continual basis. It is important for Arizona pharmacists to unite as one voice, calling for improvements on a wide-scale basis. In order to accomplish necessary changes to the profession, the AzPA relies on its members.Without new ideas and new members, we become ineffective.
Again, the larger we are in number, the more powerful we become.
